Edit, Copy, Paste, HTML, ergghhh

I am in the process of teaching myself how to add gadgets, html codes, widgets, and connect all the dots so I'm  getting more bang for my buck!  Well, you know what I mean. At some point I even want to add comprehensible and enjoyable CONTENT to my blog. I set out with one thing in mind, and then the voices in my head start to compete and I'm all over the place! I talk about my job, my winestuff, or just about anything that pops into my head.  At some point I am hoping for some opinions, but not yet...unless you just wanna say "Hi!"  that would be cool!

Repurposing for Fun and Profit!

My goal is to come up with a few really cool winefest things made of 95% or more repurposed materials. My plan is to hit up the thrift shops, giving financially back to a few good causes, using donated clothes, linens, jewelry etc to deconstruct and create fun things for wine lovers, and other good people.

I am armed with a soldering gun (to "cut through soda bottles), glue, old clothes and jewelry...and scads of inspiration! I am going to have a great time with this! I already have my "collections" named.

Stay tuned!

First Week Back to Work

All in all it was a good week. Most of the week I remembered why I really love my job. I got hugs and kisses from almost everyone each time I saw an old face, "where've you been?" "we missed you!" "glad you're finally back!" I swear, for a bunch of truckers, they are quite the sentimental fools! Ok, yeah, they also missed looking at my ass, but like I said, they're truckers!
Seriously, tho I love my job! It was my saving grace when I needed a new start in life after my world collapsed in the wake of my then husband's revelations. I regained confidence and could look people in the eyes again, dimples got their due.
The ups on trucking? I have a mobile office, the scenery changes with every mile, I get to be out in the sunshine when you cubies are stuck in the office, listening to anything I want in ghr radio or iphone as LOUD as I want (usually turned to an XPN station) and talking on the phone, (I have a blue tooth earpiece so I stay more connected with friends and family) Trucking burns nearly 300 calories per hour and is very active.

The downs? Bad weather,I HAVE to be out in it, holidays are busy, so I rarely have off and the roads can be a nightmare! I work evenings and weekends(better pay weekends, tho!) oh, yeah, the WORST part? Stupid drivers that have no common sense. (watch for future post on THAT issue!)
Ummmm, oh yeah, the other worst thing about being a lady trucker... Really having to pee and no place to stop!

Anyhow, it is nice to be back.

ROBERT

See I hopefully have learned how to title my mobile blog post because of damn fine customer service! Bought "pingle" iphone app and Robert of Curious Squid (that's @curiousquid to all you tweeple) checked out my blog and answered my issue UNSOLICITED mind you! So of course, I named a blog post after him.

Customer service, my friends, ain't nothin' like the real thing! Thanks so much! Guess I should check my blig more often!

Mobile Post

Wow. Trying out pingle, a program for the iphone to update all of my social networks with one session. Here is my test for blogger. The only thing I see so far is that I cannot name this or choose fonts, colors, etc. I'm even going to test a pic to it! Hey! I am one adventurous gal!!! Yes. I use exclamation points and elipses waaaaay too much. It's okay. I promise! If you have ever met me face to face, you'd understand...

Crazy as a Loon Am I

Of late, I've been obsessed. I have been off work nursing an injured, arthritic knee for 4 months now. Of course, now that I am scheduled to go back to work come Sunday, I have myriad of projects springing to the forefront of my mind.

I have one really big one (okay, other than my daughter's wedding) that I can't seem to shake.  I want to go green.  I want the house repairs, the garden, the vacations and all sorts of things to be more environmentally friendly. I pay attention to Planet Green!!! I am subscribing to Twitter groups and reading up on all things to do with reduce, re-use, recycle and most of all I can't help but focus on REPURPOSE!!!

I am hoping with this blog, to hash out ideas as well as give some insight, receive some advice and make people aware of what to do with all that garbage we make.  I hope for some fun projects and maybe I can make a little cash along the way...
